Craigslist ad for iPhone leads to arrest of Longview woman with warrant

Posted: Updated:
LONGVIEW, WA (KPTV) -

Deputies suspicious of a Craigslist ad for an iPhone 5s at a bargain price ended up arresting the woman selling the phone, even though the ad was legit and the phone was not stolen.

It turns out the woman had a warrant for her arrest.

Deputies, suspecting the phone was stolen, responded to the ad and agreed to meet the seller.

At that meeting, they learned Michelle Sears, 34, of Longview, was wanted for fourth-degree assault in connection with a domestic violence incident in Longview.

She was arrested and booked into the Cowlitz County Jail on Tuesday.

Deputies said it does not appear the iPhone was stolen.
