ALBANY, OR (KPTV) -

An Albany man is facing charges of encouraging child sex abuse after deputies said he downloaded and distributed child pornography online.

Detectives served a search warrant at the home of Britain James Sylvester Spikes, 25, on Tracy Court on Tuesday morning.

Deputies said Spikes admitted to using a computer in his home for child pornography.

Detectives determined a computer in the home was actively distributing child pornography files when they arrived Tuesday morning.

Numerous electronic devices were seized as part of the investigation. Additional charges may be forthcoming after a digital forensics analysis, according to the Linn County Sheriff's Office.

Spikes was booked into the Linn County Jail on three counts of first-degree encouraging child sex abuse. His bail was set at $30,000.

The Linn County Sheriff's Office was assisted in this investigation by the Benton County Sheriff's Office, the Corvallis Police Department, and the Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force.
