LEBANON, OR (KPTV) -

A fire burned 28 acres in a wheat field in Lebanon.

Firefighters responded to the field near Ridge Drive on Thursday afternoon. By 3 p.m., a second alarm was called out.

Firefighters from Albany, Halsey and Tangent responded to assist the Lebanon Fire District. The fire was under control in about 30 minutes.

Crews remained at the scene for more than two hours mopping up hot spots.

No injuries were reported, but with temperatures around 93 degrees and humidity below 30 percent, the conditions were described as not favorable for firefighters.

The fire is believed to have been started during harvesting operations in the field.
