GRAND RONDE, OR (KPTV) -

A Grand Ronde man died in a two-car crash on Highway 22 in Yamhill County.

Emergency crews responded to the scene at 9:24 a.m. Monday.

Investigators said the driver of a 2003 Nissan Sentra pulled out from Grand Ronde Road onto Highway 22 in front of an eastbound 1994 Honda Civic.

The driver of the Honda attempted to avoid the collision, according to police, but struck the driver's side door of the Nissan.

The driver of the Nissan, Michael Tubbs, 62, of Grand Ronde, was pronounced dead at the scene.

The driver of the Honda, 27-year-old Tyler Porter of Tillamook, was taken to the hospital with injuries not considered life-threatening.

Highway 22 was closed for four hours with a detour in place.
