PORTLAND, OR (KPTV) -

Portland Fire and Rescue crews responded to a call at the Harrison Tower Apartments on Southwest Harrison downtown Wednesday morning.

According to PF&R, the fire began due to a careless smoker.

One resident of the apartment was transported to OHSU for treatment from smoke-related issues. There were no other injuries reported.

Crews said the fire was under control just after 9:00 a.m.

Smoke and responding units disrupted traffic in the area. TriMet officials reported that bus lines would be detoured and delayed because of the fire.
