Viking House started as a high school project back in 1975, and the DIY school assignment has been going strong ever since.
Forest Grove High School offers the program as a way to offer students real-world experience where students build a home from the ground up.
School officials say the program fills a need and provides students with skills that are in demand in the building trades industry.
The program is self-funded by selling the homes the students build.
