MT. JEFFERSON, OR (KPTV) -

There may be a new clue in the search for a missing hiker near Mount Jefferson.

Riley Zickel of Portland went out for an overnight hike last Wednesday and hasn't been heard from since.

Crews are camped out in the town of Detroit, and Marion County deputies said 30 people were out looking Tuesday on foot, horseback and in the air.

Searchers found his car at a trailhead on Sunday. Crews say he planned to explore the park and possibly summit Mount Jefferson.

Zickel had food for several days but was expected to have run out by now.

Robin Zickel, the hiker’s father, said there could be a new clue, though.

He posted a picture on Facebook Monday of what he believes is Riley and his tent about 16 miles from the trailhead. He says this was taken by hikers on Sunday.

"You know, we had no clues at all yesterday, and one clue early this morning. The crews are out, and we haven't heard anything back. So, it's sort of an emotional roller coaster for us, honestly," Robin Zickel said Wednesday afternoon.

The Marion County Sheriff’s Office asks that anyone with information on the location of Riley Zickel please call 503-584-7724.
