SALEM, OR (KPTV) -

A semi crashed and spilled sawdust over the side of a Highway 22 off-ramp in Salem.

Police responded to the off-ramp from eastbound Highway 22, the Center Street Bridge, onto southbound Front Street at 7 a.m. Wednesday.

Officers arrived to find a 2016 semi on its side with its single trailer on top of the ramp's east railing.

The truck was hauling sawdust and police said a "considerable amount" spilled over the side of the ramp onto the ground below.

The driver of the semi, 50-year-old William Duval of Tillamook, sustained injuries described as non-life threatening. He was taken to the hospital for treatment.

Duval was cited for careless driving and failure to maintain a log book.

The truck is owned by Don Averill Trucking, according to police.

The off-ramp was closed as Salem public works, the Oregon Department of Transportation and tow crews worked to remove the truck and clean up the ramp.
