Crews used a ladder to rescue a man who became stuck on a hillside in northwest Portland.

The rescue started just after 7:30 p.m. Wednesday at 11330 NW Saint Helens Rd.

According to Portland Fire and Rescue, a man in his 50s became stuck on the slope of the hill and was unable to climb back up. There is no word on whether he fell to his location or if he had climbed down for some reason.

He shouted to fire crews that he had been stuck there since Tuesday.

Crews lowered a ladder to the man’s location and helped him climb up it. The man was not injured.

A portion of Highway 30 was closed due to the rescue but the roadway has since been reopened.
