15 acre brush fire burning south of Hood River

HOOD RIVER COUNTY, OR (KPTV) -

Firefighters are battling a brush fire burning south of Hood River.

Hood River County Sheriff said the fire was reported around 4:10 p.m. Thursday in the 3500 block of Neal Creek Road.

The fire is around 15 acres in size and is located in steep, rugged terrain. Air tankers and a helicopter are helping in the effort to fight the fire.

Hood River Co. Sheriff said there was some concern about a subdivision in the area, but now the Sheriff does not believe it's being threatened by the fire.

No structures are being threatened at this time.
