PORTLAND, OR (KPTV) -

A Portland man with a long criminal record has pleaded not guilty to new charges against him.

Themba Kelley, 47, was officially arraigned in court on Thursday on charges of burglary, theft, and attempted sex abuse.

Last month, Kelley was arrested after police said he broke into a home on Southeast Franklin Street, and went into a 16-year-old's bedroom while she was home.

Kelley was also caught on surveillance camera following a 14-year-old girl from a park that same day.

Kelley's criminal history includes a conviction on the charge of luring a minor after police said he groped a teenage worker at a Baskin-Robbins ice cream shop in southwest Portland in 2014. An additional charge of third-degree sex abuse was dismissed in that case as part of a plea agreement.

He was sentenced to probation and ordered to register as a sex offender, however he was arrested again a month later when police said he violated his probation by approaching a 12-year-old girl at her home in northeast Portland.

Kelley is due back in court Sept. 16.
