FALLS CITY, OR (KPTV) -

A disabled Army veteran's stolen wheelchair has been found in Polk County.

The Polk County Sheriff's Office asked for the public's help finding the wheelchair Thursday.

It had been stolen from outside Troy Vanscoter's travel trailer near Falls City on Wednesday, according to deputies.

The off-road wheelchair, made by Action Track, was donated to Vanscoter. He is an avid outdoorsman, but he has a broken back, so the wheelchair helped him spend time with his daughter by allowing him to go on hiking trails and the beach.

"How can you even justify that in your head, to take something like that," Vanscoter said Thursday.

Deputies said Friday the wheelchair had been located and will be returned to Vanscoter. A suspect has been identified and the investigation is continuing with charges pending.

Investigators did not release the name of the suspect.
