SUNRIVER, OR (KPTV) -

The Sunriver Police Department responded to a single airplane crash at the Sunriver Airport Friday afternoon.

When police arrived they found a Stinson Voyager Airplane upside down off to the eastside of the runway.

The pilot, Christopher Cole, 45, was able to get out of the plane and was found uninjured.

The Sunriver Airport was shut down for safety, and the National Transportation & Safety Board is investigating the crash.

Police said at this time it is believed the crash happened while the plane was landing in a northerly direction when a crosswind caused the plane to veer east off the runway. The plane nosed into the ground and flipped, coming to rest on its top.
