Man suspected of shooting, killing tenant in unincorporated Milwaukie

CLACKAMAS COUNTY, OR (KPTV) -

A man has been arrested in connection with a deadly shooting in unincorporated Milwaukie. 

The shooting occurred at about 10:30 a.m. Sunday in the 13500 block of Southeast Oatfield Road, according to the Clackamas County Sheriff’s Office. 

Deputies say the suspect, 66-year-old Gerald Lee Miller, called 911 to report that he shot his tenant. 

The victim was found dead inside the house shortly after deputies arrived. His name is being withheld pending appropriate notifications. 

Deputies say Miller was cooperative and was taken into custody. He was booked into the Clackamas County Jail on charges of murder and manslaughter in the first degree. 

The Clackamas County Major Crimes Team and the Clackamas County Medical Examiner's Office assisted in the investigation.
