A northeast Portland homeowner needs help identifying the man who stole yard items from their property.

Mai Vu’s parents live near Northeast Glisan and 102nd and said on Friday around 1 a.m., a man who wore a tie and vest grabbed yard statues from their front yard.

"It feels like someone is invading our space," Vu said.

She added that her parents' items have been stolen multiple times before, and after the fourth theft they set up video cameras.

Vu said the lion statues near the front door were stolen as well, leaving behind the plaster that glued them down.

"It's the fifth time that things have been missing from my parents' property," Vu said. "Things that they cherish."

Vu said in 1980 her father and brother escaped Vietnam by boat after the war. She said her father then sponsored the family to come to the United States 12 years later.

"He works hard out in the yard and these items have meaning to him," Vu said.

She hopes someone will recognize the man captured on surveillance video and call police.

If you have any information regarding this crime, call Portland Police.
