Local volunteers with The Bloom Project use their love of flowers to bring light to patients statewide. The non-profit repurposes leftover grocery store flowers into beautiful bouquets for hospice and palliative care patients weekly. Since Heidi Berkman founded the organization in Central Oregon in 2007, her volunteers have delivered more than 150,000 arrangements to everywhere from Bend and Redmond to Madras and Christmas Valley. The Bloom Project collects and assembles flowers at Teufel Holly Farms, but nurses and chaplains make the deliveries. Learn more at TheBloomProject.org.
