KELSO, WA (KPTV) -

A board-wielding stranger attacked a Kelso woman in her home early Tuesday morning.

Debbie Kowalski said she was at home Monday evening when a woman pulled up and asked about her roommate Randy, claiming she’d met him on Craigslist.

Kowalski said he was at work, so the woman left.

A few hours later, Kowalski heard a noise outside and said she saw the same woman in her driveway, approaching her car.

She yelled at her and the woman ran off.

Then, at around 1 a.m. Tuesday, Kowalski’s two dogs started barking and woke her up.

She went into the kitchen and saw the same woman standing there with a two-by-four.

Before Kowalski could do anything, she said the woman whacked her on the right side of her face with the board and ran.

Kowalski’s roommate told her he has no idea who the woman is and Kowalski is worried she might come back.

“I’d like to see her get caught,” said Kowalski. “You know, she needs help. If she’s going to come in and break into somebody’s house because of jealously, she needs help.”

Kowalski is recovering from bruising and a concussion.

She said the woman is around 40 years old, with brown hair, brown eyes, a medium build and she was driving a late 1990s dark blue Ford Taurus.
