The Oregon Health Authority has lifted a health advisory at Rockaway Beach and Seal Rock State Park Beach after high levels of bacteria in the waters have subsided.
OHA initially issued the advisory at Rockaway beach on August 9 and Seal Rock on August 10, after water samples showed higher-than-normal levels of fecal bacteria in the ocean waters.
Recent samples taken by the Oregon Department of Environmental Quality show that contamination has subsided.
OHA said the water no longer poses a higher-than-normal risk associated with water activities but do recommend staying out of large pools on the beach that are frequented by birds, and runoff from those pools.
