SALEM, OR (KPTV) -

Marion County Sheriff's Office deputies are investigating a two-car crash that seriously injured a pedestrian in Salem.

MCSO responded to the crash Tuesday night at the intersection of Lancaster Drive Northeast and Silverton Road Northeast.

Deputies said a black Chevrolet car was driving east on Silverton Road NE and ran a red light as it turned north on to Lancaster Drive NE. The Chevrolet was hit by a westbound Chrysler 300 and the impact pushed the Chevrolet into a pedestrian that was crossing Lancaster Drive NE on a skate board.

The pedestrian was taken to Salem Hospital with serious injuries but he is expected to survive.
