WEST LINN, OR (KPTV) -

Two men were arrested for burglary after a West Linn resident called police to report suspicious people.

West Linn Police Department said around 12:23 p.m. on Thursday Theresa Norris noticed two men driving down the street in the Parker Crest neighborhood in a black VW Jetta. Norris watched as the passenger would run up to the front doors of homes and then run back to the car. After watching the men do this a couple times, Norris called police.

West Linn officers checked the area and found the vehicle in the Sunset neighborhood abandoned. While checking the area, one officer found two men matching the description running through yards onto Sunset Avenue. The officer was able to stop and detain the two men.

West Linn PD said Clifton Arthur Chambers, 32, and John Vanderbeck, 44, both from Portland, were arrested.

Officers obtained a warrant for the vehicle and found items from an unreported burglary on Sunset Avenue.

Vanderbeck was taken to the Clackamas County Jail for felon in possession of a restricted weapon and burglary in the first degree.

West Linn PD said Chambers was taken to the hospital after ingesting a large amount of heroin as he was being contacted by police. When he is released from the hospital he will face charges of probation violation, possession of heroin, and burglary in the first degree.
