Canby woman arrested after yearlong embezzlement investigation

SHERWOOD, OR (KPTV) -

A Canby woman was arrested Friday on charges that she embezzled $145,000 after a yearlong investigation by Sherwood police .

Sarah Lenore Ahlschlager, 39, was employed as an office manager at Sherwood Family Medicine. The business reported missing funds to investigators at the Sherwood Police Department in June of 2015.

After an extensive investigation, prosecutors brought the case in front of a Washington County Grand Jury, which issued a secret indictment Wednesday.

A warrant was issued for Ahlschlager’s arrest and officers picked her up without incident.

She was booked into the Washington County Jail and faces 30 felony charges, including aggravated theft, aggravated identity theft, identity theft and forgery. Ahlschlager’s bail was set at $200,000.
