Portland police arrested a man Friday morning suspected of stealing a farm truck and crashing it into another vehicle before fleeing from the scene while being chased by bystanders.

According to a release from the Portland Police Bureau, Jacob John Bunker was stealing a farm truck from Delta Farms in northeast Portland early Friday morning when he crashed into another vehicle near the intersection of Northeast Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard and East Burnside Street.

As police were responding to the crash, they received an update that the driver of the truck was running south on Grand Avenue being chased by bystanders.

Officers took Bunker into custody after they arrived on scene.

Police say that no one was seriously injured in the other vehicle involved in the crash.

Bunker was booked into the Multnomah County Jail and is facing charges of unlawful use of a motor vehicle and failure to perform the duties of a driver, along with a parole violation.
