SALEM, OR (KPTV) -

Marion County deputies said a 31-year-old man was arrested after he was caught trying to burn down a flower shop in Salem.

Deputies arrested Jesus Ochoa-Oliveros at 10:50 p.m. Thursday, after witnesses said he lit several rags in an attempt to burn Hearthbeat Florist, located at 500 Lancaster Drive Southeast.

Deputies said there was a short foot chase before Ochoa-Oliveros was arrested. Three knives, brass knuckles and a lighter were found in his possession.

This isn't the first time Marion County deputies contacted Ochoa-Oliveros for arson.

On Aug. 10, deputies contacted Ochoa-Oliveros near a series of criminal mischiefs and a dumpster fire, however Ochoa-Oliveros was able to escape deputies.

Ochoa-Oliveros is now in the Marion County Jail and is being charged with arson in the second degree, resisting arrest, two counts of interfering with a police officer and carrying a concealed weapon.
