Coast Guard rescues injured teen from cliff at Cape Kiwanda

PACIFIC CITY, OR (KPTV) -

A helicopter crew from the U.S. Coast Guard airlifted an injured teenager from a cliff side at Cape Kiwanda Friday.

The Coast Guard said the 16-year-old boy was hurt while jumping off a rock on the north side of the punchbowl at about 6 p.m.

Firefighters and a rescue team from the Tillamook County Sheriff's Office arrived to help the teen.

The coast guard helicopter arrived shortly before 7:30 p.m. and hoisted the teen from the cliff.

The teen was transported to Samaritan North Lincoln Hospital in Lincoln City.

An update on the boy's condition wasn't available Saturday morning.
