SELMA, OR (AP) -

State fire officials say a blaze burning along Highway 199 in southwest Oregon has destroyed three homes and at least five outbuildings.

The Oregon Department of Forestry said firefighters Saturday morning discovered one more home had burned than previously thought.

No injuries have been reported. Several dozens of people in the rural community have been told to leave the area. Residents were able to leave the area safely.

Forestry spokesman Brian Ballou says the 50-acre fire began Friday on the west side of the Redwood Highway near the town of Selma. High winds fanned the flames to the other side of the road. The blaze temporarily closed the highway, but it has since reopened to travelers.

Ballou says investigators believe the fire was human-caused. He says authorities are interviewing a possible suspect.

The blaze was mostly contained as of Saturday. Fire crews are monitoring fire lines and watching for hot spots or flare ups.
