BEND, OR (KPTV) -

Five people were hurt in a rollover crash east of Bend early Sunday, according to Oregon State Police.

Just before 1 a.m., troopers responded to a report of a single-vehicle rollover on Highway 20 near Powell Butte Highway.

According to Oregon State Police, the preliminary investigation revealed that a 2001 Isuzu SUV was heading southbound on Powell Butte Highway at a high rate of speed when it failed to stop at the stop sign with Highway 20.

The SUV left the roadway and rolled multiple times. Emergency crews had to extricate the five occupants from the wreckage. They were taken to the hospital to be treated for injuries ranging from minor to serious.

The driver, 23-year-old Shawn W. Seagraves Hall of Redmond, was cited at the hospital for driving under the influence of intoxicants, reckless driving, reckless endangering, and assault II.

Oregon State Police say speed and alcohol are being considered contributing factors to the crash.
