PORTLAND, OR (KPTV) -

Crime Stoppers of Oregon is offering a $1,000 reward to encourage the public to help find an inmate who walked off a Department of Corrections work crew at Pittock Mansion Friday.

Jasson Lewis Ray, 37, was last seen Friday at Legacy Good Samaritan Medical Center, hours after he walked away from the work crew.

Ray is described as a white man, 5 feet 8 inches tall and weighing 200 pounds, with a shaved head, blue eyes goatee and many tattoos, including a star-shaped tattoo on his neck.

The Oregon State Police and crews from the Portland Police Bureau, including K-9 units, spent much of Friday searching nearby parks, trails and neighborhoods after Ray walked away from the mansion.

A resident of a nearby neighborhood told FOX 12 he saw Ray, who had stripped to a T-shirt and shorts and said he had broken his arm skateboarding.

The man said he last saw the inmate when he dropped him off at the hospital, where Ray checked in under an assumed name and was later seen on surveillance footage walking out in stocking feet.

Ray is currently serving time on theft and firearm charges and has had prior convictions for assault. According to the Department of Corrections, he entered custody in December and his earliest possible release date was in February 2019.

Ray also has a criminal history in California and Arizona.

DOC officials believe Ray may have returned to his home area of Lane County, adding that he may be armed and suicidal.

Anyone that has information on the location of Ray is asked to contact Crime Stoppers, either by calling 503-823-4357, by texting 823HELP followed by the tip to 274637 or online at CrimeStoppersOfOregon.com.
