A woman selling magazines door-to-door is accused of burglarizing two Wilsonville homes.

Police were called to a home on Wimbledon Circle at 2:26 p.m. Tuesday.

Police said a woman entered the home with a 12-year-old boy alone inside. The boy called his mother, who called 911.

As deputies arrived to investigate, a neighbor informed them that a door-to-door salesperson who had just been at his house was now hiding behind a bush in his yard.

Deputies located the suspect walking away from the house. They said she confessed to the burglary.

Emely Mercedes Fernandez, 18, said she sells magazine subscriptions and is part of a crew staying at a motel in Wilsonville, according to investigators.

Fernandez was booked into the Clackamas County Jail on first-degree burglary charges.

On Tuesday night, police received another report of a burglary in the same neighborhood. The caller reported that someone burglarized her home while her son, who works a graveyard shift, was asleep.

A deputy went to the jail and interviewed Fernandez. The deputy said Fernandez confessed to the second burglary, as well.
