Wildfire burning just west of Sunriver grows to 360 acres

SUNRIVER, OR (KPTV) -

A 360acre wildfire is burning about 1.5 miles west of Sunriver, according to fire officials.

The fire is about 1.5 miles west of Sunriver and moving southwest, according to the Center Oregon Interagency Dispatch Center.

Two heavy air tankers are being used to fight the fire. The Center Oregon Interagency Dispatch Center said helicopters are planning to dip water from the Deschutes River west of Sunriver Bridge.

A Level 1 Evacuation is in effect for Fall River Fish Hatchery and Fall River Estates.

Deschutes County Sheriff Shane Nelson said a youth camp has been evacuated and there is no immediate danger to homes or structures.

Deschutes County Sheriff's Office said road closures are in place for Spring River Road at Conklin Road, Century Driver at River Summit Drive, and USFS Road 40 at Crane.

The cause of the fire is not known at this time.
