NORTH PLAINS, OR (KPTV) -

An Aloha man was found dead after he drowned in a private lake located north of North Plains, according to Washington County Sheriff's Office.

WCSO said at 10:23 a.m. deputies were called to the 25200 block of Northwest Braga Road about a possible drowning.

According to WCSO, family members called and said Charles Merrill, 76, was missing. The family owns acreage on NW Braga Road that has a large lake on the property. The family searched for Merrill and saw the family boat capsized on the lake but no sign of Merrill.

The Clackamas County Sheriff's Office dive team responded to the lake. The dive team searched the lake and at 4:55 p.m., they found Merrill dead in the lake near the boat.

The Washington County Medical Examiner believes Merrill suffered a medical issue causing him to fall into the water.
