TIGARD, OR (KPTV) -

A fight at a Tigard apartment complex led to a stabbing and the arrest of an assault suspect, according to police.

A 911 call was made at 5:40 p.m. Saturday regarding an assault with a weapon. Police released details about the incident Thursday.

Officers said they arrived at the Windmill Apartments on the 10500 block of Southwest Tigard Street and found a 42-year-old man outside an apartment with a stab wound near his shoulder.

Officers administered first aid and questioned a small group of people in the area. Police said the suspect had barricaded himself inside one of the apartments.

The Washington County Tactical Negotiation Team was called out and the suspect was taken into custody. He was identified as 35-year-old Jesus Recio.

Investigators said two men got into a fight while at a gathering of friends and acquaintances, leading to the stabbing. Two children were in the home at the time.

Nobody else was injured.

The stabbing victim was treated and released at the hospital.

Recio was booked into the Washington County Jail on the charge of second-degree assault.
