PORTLAND, OR (KPTV) -

A convicted felon sleeping in his car in southeast Portland had two loaded handguns, 25 grams of heroin and $2,500 in cash, according to police.

Officers responded to a 911 call from a passerby who spotted a man asleep in his vehicle at Southeast 122nd Avenue and Reedway Street at 12:28 a.m. Thursday.

Officers woke up the man after spotting items in plain view that led them to believe he may have ingested drugs.

Adam Joseph Coopersmith, 32, got out of the car and gave officers consent to search it. Police said the officers located two loaded handguns, several loaded magazines, heroin and cash.

Investigators said other evidence was located that indicated Coopersmith was trafficking drugs.

Coopersmith was booked into the Multnomah County Jail on charges of delivery of heroin, possession of heroin and felon in possession of a firearm.
