GRESHAM, OR (KPTV) -

Police are investigating a crash in Gresham involving a car and a power pole early Friday morning.

Gresham police officers responded to the incident around 3:10 a.m. at Northeast Halsey Street and Northeast 169th Avenue.

Police said a single car crashed into the pole. The driver then got out and ran from the scene.

Officers said they checked with nearby hospitals, but no one has been admitted with injuries consistent with the car crash.

Officials said some power lines came down after the pole was hit. Halsey is expected to remain closed from 162nd Ave. to 170th Ave. until about 12 p.m. while crews work to clear the damage.

Police are asking drivers to avoid the area while Portland General Electric repairs the pole.
