Man who went missing while attending swimming competition found in Portland

GRESHAM, OR (KPTV) -

UPDATE: (8/24) Gresham police said Thomas Walker was found safe in downtown Portland on Aug. 22 and has since returned home.


ORIGINAL STORY:
Gresham police are asking for the public’s help in locating a missing 69-year-old man. 

Thomas Walker of Sammamish, Washington arrived in the Gresham area earlier this week to compete in a swimming competition at Mt. Hood Community College, according to police. 

Police say he left the college on Sunday at 8 a.m. and has not been seen or heard from since. Friends and family are concerned for his welfare due to a heart condition. Walker is without his medication and is not familiar with the area. 

Walker is described as a white man, 5’11”, 180 pounds with gray hair and was last seen wearing a red t-shirt, swim trunks and carrying a black athletic bag. 

Anyone with information on his whereabouts is asked to call Gresham police.
