BEAVERTON, OR (KPTV) -

People living at a Beaverton mobile home community say they feel threatened and are afraid they'll be kicked out of their homes by management.

Residents at Heritage Village said it first started with a notice from property managers in July. The note stated the property managers had provided advance notice to do an on-site inspection. It was apart of an “on-going commitment to clean-up Heritage Village and were necessary to keep the community clean, safe, and help increase your home value.”

Patti Tracey and Wayne Smith have lived in their mobile home for years and were notified to address several issues on their lot, like removing his canoe, fired and fencing.

Later in August, there was another notice provided to residents stating something similar. Where if homeowners did not fix what was listed, they could face termination of their rental agreement.

Smith claims the property owner, Cal-Am Properties is trying to pursue a land-grab.

“I don’t like the idea of them kicking all of us out of here because of the fact they would like to make more money," said Smith.

Across the street from Tracey and Smith, lives Everardo Morales and his family.

Morales is taking care of his list, which includes removing a gate, adding house numbers and changing the paint color.

“Well if I don’t get all the things, I have to move," said Morales.

The two families have a deadline of September 17 to fix everything on their list to avoid termination of their lease.

Fox 12 reached out to the property company and managers. We are waiting to hear back.

Hundreds of residents came to the community clubhouse Monday evening to talk about their options.

A spokesperson for the residents said they are possibly working on a committee and a lawyer, and their next meeting is September 6 at 7 p.m.
