Portland designer Sarah Donofrio made the cut out of thousands of applicants for "Project Runway," and will compete on the show's upcoming 15th season.
As a longtime fan, Donofrio was shocked when she got the call back in May.
“I was kind of in disbelief because this is all new to me, and I've never done something like this," she said. "So I was like 'Thank you! This is great!' and then I got off the phone and freaked out.”
Though she's watched many episodes herself, she says nothing prepared her for the off the wall challenges.
Donofrio, who is originally from Toronto, recently moved to Portland.
She launched her label, Sarah Donofrio, in 2009 which consists of unique fabrics with bright and crazy colors.
“I'm really inspired by the '80s when there's a lot of strong looking women and exaggerated shapes,” she explained.
She can't say how she did on the show but she said win or lose, it was an experience of a lifetime.
You can follow Donofrio's journey on the 15th season of "Project Runway." The show premieres on September 15.
