Man sentenced to prison for selling pot outside high school, community college

DALLAS, OR (KPTV) -

A man who was selling marijuana in the parking lot shared by Dallas High School and Chemeketa Community College has been sentenced to nearly three years in prison.

Morgan Keith Haney, 26, of Dallas, pleaded guilty in Polk County Circuit Court on Tuesday to charges including delivery of marijuana to a minor and delivery of marijuana within 1,000 feet of a school.

Haney also pleaded no contest to charges including felon in possession of a firearm and felon in possession of a restricted weapon, according to the Polk County District Attorney's Office.

The Dallas Police Department investigation revealed that Haney had been selling marijuana outside the schools in Dallas. Chemeketa Community College has an education center near the high school. 

Haney was sentenced Tuesday to two years and 10 months in prison, along with three years post-prison supervision.
