TROUTDALE, OR (KPTV) -

A husband and wife were found dead in the Troutdale area in what investigators are calling a murder-suicide.

A landscaping crew discovered the body of a woman in a car outside a home on the 1700 block of Seidl Road on Saturday morning.

Deputies responded to the scene and found a man's body inside the home.

On Tuesday, investigators reported that Ellen Larson, 61, died of multiple gunshot wounds. The manner of death was ruled a homicide, according to the Multnomah County Medical Examiner's Office.

Keith Gregory Larson, 62, died of a single gunshot wound. His death was ruled a suicide.

Deputies said two guns were used in the shootings. A .22 caliber pistol was used in the murder, according to the sheriff's office, and a 9 mm pistol was used to carry out the suicide.

Both guns were recovered at the scene.

Investigators said the man and woman were husband and wife and lived at the home where their bodies were discovered.

Deputies believe the murder-suicide took place Friday evening.

No other details were released Tuesday about the ongoing investigation.
