PORTLAND, OR (KPTV) -

The owner of a Portland marijuana dispensary said two men hit him in the head and then tied him up before raiding the shop during a weekend robbery.

So much was stolen from Greenland Dispensary in the Northwest Industrial District that they can’t even open up for business. Owner Bijan Pishbin told FOX 12 that is the least of his worries, though.

Pishbin said he thought he was going to die in the robbery Sunday, and is fearful since the two men who did it are still on the run.

According to Pishbin, two men came in as customers just before closing but didn’t have cash and said the ATM didn’t work.

They went outside, but when Pishbin offered to let them pay with a phone system, they came back and robbed him.

He said they put a gun to his head, beat him with it and dragged him to a back room where they put a bag over his head and ripped out the phone and computer system.

“He grabbed the phone, he took the cord and he tied me from the back like this, very tight,” Pishbin told FOX 12.

He added that the two men forced him to open the safe, then took his cell phone, computers, security cameras and cash registers.

Pishbin said the men wanted him to open the ATM. When he said he couldn’t, they ripped it out of the floor and stole the whole machine.

The store owner said the men were in the dispensary for more than an hour. Pishbin said they threatened to kill him, and he believed they would.

“I begged for my life, I told him I have cancer, I’m in pain,” he recalled. “I have cancer, I’m not a young guy.”

Pishbin said the ordeal finally ended when he warned the men that the store alarm would go off if they stayed past closing.

They left him tied up on the floor in the back room, but he was able to loosen the cord enough to hit a button to call the police.

“The police, they call me and said, ‘Don’t be scared, he’s okay,’ so I met him here and he was bleeding,” Pishbin’s wife Saba Tiruneh said.

As the couple tries to rebuild their lives and their business, they hope the two suspects are caught quickly, saying what happened was so violent that they believe the men are dangerous and would be willing to rob again.

Another man who works near the store said he happened to come by around 6:00 p.m. Sunday and saw one of the men on the phone in front of the store.

He said he was a white man about 6 feet tall and 200 pounds, driving a bright blue ford ranger.

Anyone with information on the incident is asked to call the Portland Police Bureau right away.
