PORTLAND, OR (KPTV) -

Two people have been arrested in connection with the December 2015 homicide of 21-year-old Kyle Polk, according to the Portland Police Bureau.

Portland police said Javier Fernando Hernandez, 20, of Vancouver, was arrested on charges of murder, attempted aggravated murder, attempted murder, and two counts of unlawful use of a weapon.

Police said Hernandez was arrested by the US Marshals Oregon Fugitive Task Force in Troutdale on Tuesday.

On Aug. 19, police said they arrested Cynthia Anne Scholer, 46, of Vancouver, on charges of tampering with physical evidence and six counts of hindering prosecution.

Portland Police Bureau Homicide detectives began their investigation on Dec. 16 when officers responded to a shooting at Southeast 112th Avenue and Division Street.

Officers found Polk suffering from traumatic injuries. Lifesaving efforts were not successful and Polk died at the scene.

Police said Homicide detectives followed leads in the case that led to a Multnomah County Grand Jury to indict Hernandez and Scholer in connection with Polk's murder.

Anyone with information about the shooting is asked to contact Detective Brad Clifton at 503-823-0696, brad.clifton@portlandoregon.gov; or Detective Todd Gradwahl at 503-823-0991, todd.gradwahl@portlandoregon.gov.
