SPRINGFIELD, OR (KPTV) -

An angry customer went on a rampage with her SUV at a Springfield Safeway, driving the vehicle into the store and through the aisles, according to Springfield police.

Police said the woman, identified as Noella Fay, 43, attempted to buy $2,200 worth of gift cards at the store on Pioneer Parkway Tuesday afternoon, but her check didn't clear and she was refused.

Fay then returned just after midnight Wednesday, parking her 2004 Chevrolet Tahoe SUV in front of the store and demanding the gift cards, according to police.

When a store employee told her to move the vehicle, Fay then drove through the doors and into the store, police said.

Police said Fay drove down an aisle to the back of the store, then reversed and returned to the front, where she drove behind the registers and exited through the east doors.

Officers later arrested Fay at her home in the Glenwood area. Her car was found abandoned near downtown Springfield.

There were four employees and two customers in the store at the time of the incident. Police said there were no injuries.

Fay was booked in the Lane County Jail on charges of reckless driving, recklessly endangering and 1st degree criminal mischief.
