VANCOUVER, WA (KPTV) -

A man in his underwear was punched and kicked inside a Starbucks in Vancouver and the altercation started over theft allegations involving a TV remote control, according to court documents.

Police responded to the coffee shop on Main Street at 8:12 a.m. Tuesday.

A probable cause affidavit states James Alex Neal, 35, had broken open his neighbor's door and attacked him. The other man got out of his apartment and ran away.

He ended up in Starbucks wearing only his underwear and a shirt, with Neal following him into the business.

The incident was caught on camera by a witness.

People in Starbucks helped break up the fight. Police arrived and located both men in the area.

Neal was arrested. Neal told police he broke open his neighbor's door because his neighbor had broken into his apartment and stolen his Comcast remote control, according to a probable cause affidavit.

Neal said his neighbor breaking into his apartment has been an ongoing issue.

Neal also admitted to officers that he is a diagnosed schizophrenic, according to court documents.

Neal was in court Wednesday and is facing the charge of first-degree burglary. He has not been charged with assault at this time.

His bail was set at $25,000. A formal arraignment is scheduled for Sept. 8.
