MOLALLA, OR (KPTV) -

Oregon State Police said speed and alcohol may have been a factor in a crash that left a 57-year-old motorcyclist dead.

Troopers said David R. Legore of Colton died at the scene of the incident.

Investigators said preliminary information showed Legore was driving a 2106 Harley Davidson south on State Road 211 Wednesday evening when he traveled into the northbound lane, striking a 1997 Ford van.

The driver of the van, 50-year-old Sean C. Drinkwine of Estacada, was uninjured.

According to the OSP, alcohol and speed are being considered as contributing factors to the crash.

The Clackamas County Sheriff’s Office, Molalla Police Department and Oregon Department of Transportation all assisted in this case.
