PORTLAND, OR (KPTV) -

A traffic alert continues for anyone who uses the MAX lines to get around town.

TriMet started its largest concrete pour of the Rose Quarter MAX improvements project Thursday.

Enough concrete to fill a TriMet bus, 100 cubic yards, was poured Thursday morning.

Crews are working to replace track and switches and are also upgrading the signal system at the Rose Quarter.

TriMet has warned riders to plan an extra 30 to 45 minutes if they travel between the west side and east side of the city.

Many commuters have told FOX 12, though, that they haven't found many delays so far going to work.

TriMet officials say the project is progressing on schedule and they expect to be finished by September 3.
