A Portland police officer was sentenced to jail for driving under the influence in April, and now dash cam video from that day has been released.

Officer Daniel Chastain, 43, pleaded guilty to fourth-degree assault on Monday to a crash in Clackamas County in April.

The crash occurred the afternoon of April 25 near the intersection of Southeast Big Timber Court and 172nd Avenue.

Witnesses said a black car was speeding when it collided with a pickup and rolled over.

Investigators learned the car was owned by the city of Portland. Chastain was off-duty at the time of the crash, but he was on-call, according to Portland police.

In dash cam video you can see Officer Chastain's car on its top in Happy Valley. Officer Chastain is heard telling the Deputy he was going too fast and lost control.

It took several hours before the car was flipped over and towed away.

As the Deputy drove Officer Chastain to jail, Officer Chastain can be heard casually talking to the Deputy in the dash cam video.

Officer Chastain will now serve 32 days in jail, two years probation with substance abuse treatment, and 24 hours community service. He was also fined $2,300.
