SALEM, OR (KPTV) -

A tagger responsible for graffiti at more than 200 locations around Salem was arrested after a lengthy investigation, Salem police said Friday.

Police said the department's graffiti abatement team began tracking the suspect in early 2015 and in July of this year, information led them to Gilbert Michael Ramirez, 19, of Salem.

According to police, Ramirez is responsible for graffiti at 232 locations, with a combined total of more than $13,000 in damage.

Ramirez was taken into custody on multiple counts of first- and second-degree criminal mischief.

He's scheduled to appear in court in September.
