SALEM, OR (KPTV) -

A ranch photographer from Harney County is the big winner of this year's photography competition at the Oregon State Fair.

Andi Harmon of LC Ranch Photography in Burns said her photo, 'Bringing in the Broodmares,' took first place in the color photography division and also won the honor of 'Best of Show.'

Harmon said she was surprised to learn she won.

"Please, honored and humbled all rolled into one!" she said.

Harmon said she photographed the mares in the spring, about 20 miles east of Burns.

"I took the photo one spring morning as my boyfriend’s son was bringing his mares in," Harmon said. "He raises bucking horses and was preparing for his Mother’s Day rodeo here. We had a pickup and horse trailer jack-knifed across the road to act as a fence in front of the corrals he wanted the horses to go in. Glen Shelley, my boyfriend’s son, can be seen in the back moving the band along."

Harmon said she entered other photos into competition at the fair but hadn't yet heard if they won any awards.

The Oregon State Fair runs through Sept. 5. For more information, log on to oregonstatefair.org.
