HILLSBORO, OR (KPTV) -

Firefighters battled a fast-moving grass fire that was close to spreading to barns and timber Monday afternoon.

Tualatin Valley Fire & Rescue said they responded to the fire in the 16000 block of Northwest Mason Hill Road just after 2 p.m.

Firefighters from TVF&R, Hillsboro Fire & Rescue, Banks Fire District and ODF used brush rigs and engines to surround and extinguish the fire.

Water had to be shuttled to the scene since there weren't any hydrants in the area.

TVF&R said more than eight acres burned.

No injuries were reported.
