Police need help identifying man after attempted armed robbery at Beaverton Fred Meyer

BEAVERTON, OR (KPTV) -

Beaverton Police are asking for the public's help identifying a man after he attempted to rob a Fred Meyer Monday night.

Police said at 6 p.m. the suspect armed with a handgun attempted to rob the Customer Service desk of Fred Meyer, located at 11425 Southwest Beaverton Hillsdale Highway.

The man was unsuccessful and fled from the store on foot.

Police said the man is white, about 45 - 60 years old, 5 feet 8 inches tall and weighs about 175 pounds. He has grey facial hair. He was wearing all black and wearing sunglasses and a black baseball cap backwards.

Anyone with information about the identity of the man is asked to call the Beaverton Police Department by calling Washington County Non-Emergency Dispatch (503) 629-0111, reference case #16-2421268.
