KELSO, WA (KPTV) -

Police are investigating a pattern of suspicious fires that occurred within three days, just a few blocks apart in Kelso.

The most recent fire happened on South River Road. A neighbor named Dan Palin, said he looked at his home's surveillance video and saw some suspicious activity that he reported to police.

"There was a pickup truck that was sitting there for five minutes and then took off," Palin said. "Yesterday only this was burned and then last night somebody came and started over here."

Palin said he noticed the truck pull down the road slowly and then back into the driveway of the home that was burned. He said minutes later they pulled away and firefighters were called to the scene.

Police said they are not sure if the person driving the truck committed arson, but they are looking into it.

According to firefighters, that was one of four fires that was set within about 18 hours.

The other fires happened in close proximity to each other. One happened in the 500 block Redpath Street, another on South 5th Avenue and the third on Milwaukee Place.

Police reported finding a wad of newspapers doused in gasoline that was stuffed into a hole on the side of the house on South River Road.
